About Me
Hi there! Welcome to vibecheck.
I'm a working professional based in the United States. I came to the U.S. as an international student, earned my bachelor's and master's degrees, and navigated the full immigration journey — from OPT to H-1B to permanent residency (green card).
Through that process, I learned a lot about managing money in a new country — from opening my first bank account to building credit from scratch, filing taxes, and figuring out how to actually save while paying off student loans.
What This Blog Is About
This blog covers topics I'm genuinely passionate about and have personal experience with:
- Personal Finance — High-yield savings accounts, budgeting strategies, credit building, and smart money management tips that I actually use in my daily life.
- U.S. Immigration — Real-world timelines, tips, and experiences from someone who went through the F-1 → OPT → H-1B → Green Card journey firsthand.
- Life in the U.S. — Practical guides for immigrants and expats navigating everyday life in America.
Why I Started This Blog
When I was going through my own immigration process and trying to figure out personal finance in the U.S., I wished there was a blog written by someone who had actually been through it — not just generic advice from people who never had to worry about visa status or building credit from zero.
That's exactly what I'm trying to build here: honest, experience-based content that helps people in similar situations make better decisions with their money and their future.
A Quick Note
Everything on this blog is based on my personal experience and research. I'm not a licensed financial advisor or immigration attorney. Always do your own research and consult professionals for your specific situation.
Thanks for stopping by — I hope you find something useful here!
